Lead Theology Course

Weekly update banner.png

Dear church family,

Firstly, don't forget we have giving Sunday a week on Sunday so do be praying about how much God wants you to give towards the Mezzanine!

Secondly, beginning in October we are running the Lead Theology Course which is a 10 month course on one Saturday morning a month. Each session is divided in two with one part focused on exploring a section of the Bible and the other part focused on an aspect of practical theology and how it applies to our discipleship and leadership.

Studying the Bible helps us to increase and develop our understanding of God. It helps us to discern His voice and know when He is leading us. We are currently looking at being strong in God and on Sunday Mark spoke about knowing your enemy; we also need to know our God. Know how He moves, how He speaks and His promises to us. This course also helps with understanding the overarching story in the Bible where often we only look at certain passages or verses - this course looks at that greater narrative and how it all fits together.

Why not come along! As Jesus says to the enemy when he comes under attack, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.' Knowing God's word helps with our spiritual warfare and pushing the enemy back, it helps us counteract his schemes and stand on truth.

Givaudan 10K Road Race - Sunday 8th October 2023
The route for this run starts at the Julie Rose stadium and comes directly past church.  Last year we set up an extra support 'Hype' station.  This was a fantastic opportunity for us to be out there with our community supporting a local event.  We provided water, sweets, music and most importantly, supporting the runners as they came up the hill with lots of encouragement! We had so many appreciative comments from runners last year and we will be supporting them again this year. More details to follow....
If you would like to take part as a runner, the run is open to all abilities; details are: https://www.sportingeventsuk.com/enter-an-event/givaudan-ashford-10k
